Florence High School Ambassadors Leadership opportunity for Sophomores. Our FHS Ambassadors are a selected group of FHS students who serve as hosts to both school and community events and are considered representatives of our students at FHS. Ambassadors are selected in August and Sophomores can apply and interview to replace any open spots from any graduating seniors who served as Ambassadors. Selection for this program is very competitive. Sophomores who are interested in being considered need to see Ms. Page or Ms. Rhodes in Guidance to pick up an application as soon as school begins in August. Applications will be due and interviews will be conducted at the end of August.

Leadership opportunity with the Shoals Chamber of Commerce for students to participate during the junior year of high school. Selection for this program is thru and application and interview process. Applications are sent to area schools at the very end of March. The deadline to apply is usually somewhere around the 3rd week of April. Students apply in the Sophomore year. Please see Ms. Rhodes in Guidance or email Ms. Lovelace the week we return from Spring Break if you would like an application for this opportunity.

National Merit Scholar Qualifying Test. Taking the PSAT in the Junior year serves as the test to determine National Merit Scholars. Students are also given the opportunity to register to take a PSAT practice test in the Fall of their Freshman and/or Sophomore years.

Capstone Leadership Academy for Sophomores hosted by UA Honors College
Leadership opportunity for Sophomores. FFC/FHS faculty selects two 10th grade students whom we feel would represent our school if selected for this competitive program. The students selected must apply for the program to determine if selected. Only 100 sophomores within the state of Alabama are invited to attend. Students must have a 3.0 min cumulative GPA to be considered. Email or come see Ms. Lovelace by September 1st if you are interested in being considered for this opportunity.
